purchased at the 2008 Classic.

Junior
Exhibitors will need to have registration papers on Breeding
Heifers and Steers that you want
to be shown in a Breed Division. Animals without
registration Papers will be shown in the Commercial
Division.
Thousands of Dollars in Cash and Prizes will be presented to
the Nebraska Youth!
Prizes will include Jackets, Computers, and Show Equipment.

4-H and FFA Youth - Don’t miss Steirwalt the Classic!
Kirk Steirwalt will be giving a demonstration on Friday,
February 22nd at 5:00 p.m. and again on
Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m.

Junior
Opportunities
“Classic
Premiere Heifer”
Juniors that purchase heifers during any of the Classic
sales and show the heifer at the Nebraska
Cattlemen’s Classic Junior Show, are eligilbe for cash back
at the next year’s Nebraska Cattlemen’s
Classic. Plus, there is a special class for the heifers at
the Junior Show. All the youth in this class
receive prizes! The heifer that is selected as the Premiere
Classic Heifer will receive $500. Juniors
should make plans to select their show heifers at the
Classic!
Scholarships
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic and all the Breed
Associations participating at the Classic have teamed up to
make possible scholarships for youth in each respective
breed. For more information contact the respective Breed
Association.
Junior Show Rules
Eligibility: The Classic
Junior show is open to Nebraska youth only. All cattle must
be owned by Nebraska exhibitors.
Age: Exhibitors must be
at least 8 years of age but cannot have passed his or her
21st birthday by
January 1, 2008.
Enter all cattle in one of the
following divisions: Hereford, Polled Hereford, Red Angus,
Angus,
Simmental, Braunvieh, Charolais, Limousin, Gelbvieh,
Shorthorn, Maine Anjou, MaineTainer,
Chianina and Commercial Heifers, Crossbred Steers or Market
Heifers.
Junior Exhibitors are limited to 2 entries per individual.
NO LIMITS on the heifer entries purchased
at the Classic Sales. All entries must be pre-registered
with the NCC office by Feb. 1, 2008. The only
entries accepted at the Classic will be heifers purchased
during the 2008 Classic Sales. All entries will
check-in at the Classic on Saturday, February 23. Check-In
time is 8:00 a.m. - Noon. Exhibitors will bring
animals and registration papers to check-in.
Breeding Heifers:
Heifers must be born from January 2007 to December 2007. All
breeding heifers must
have registration papers and tattoos to be eligible to show
in the respective Breed Division. Any 2007 heifer
purchased at the Classic is eligible to show in the
respective Breed Division. Low percentage heifers will be
shown separately, but one overall champion will be selected
for each Breed Division. Appendix Shorthorn heifers will
show in the Commercial heifer division.
Market Heifers:
All market animals must have a Nebraska 4-H or FFA tag in
place to be eligible to show. All Market Heifers will be
shown by weight.
Market Steers: All
market steers must have a Nebraska 4-H or FFA tag in place
to be eligible to show.
Steers are shown by Breed divisions. A steer must have a
respective Breed Certificate or Registration
Paper with the respective breed to show in that Division.
Non-papered steers will show in the Crossbred
Division. All steers must be born in 2007.
Showmanship:
Showmanship will be at the end of the day with 3 divisions.
Junior: 8-10; Intermediate 11-
13; and Senior:14-up.
Grooming: Any
animal that the show management finds to be unethically
altered in conformation, structure or color other than
normal grooming practices will not be allowed to show.
Health: All cattle
are from Nebraska. No Health papers required.
Bedding: All
cattle will be bedded on shredded mulch. Bedding is
provided. NO STRAW IS ALLOWED.
Tie Outs: Tie out
space is provided on the grounds for youth. It is on a first
come first serve.
Brand Inspections:
All animals from a non-brand inspection area will be subject
to an inspection. The fee
will be collected directly by the Brand men at check-in.
Junior Exhibitors are allowed in
the tie-outs at anytime. Juniors can use the indoor wash
racks. NO Junior
entries will be allowed to stall in the Exposition Center,
until the completion of Supreme Judging on
Saturday, Feb. 23th. All stalls and indoor fitting areas
will be assigned and given at check-in on Saturday,
February 23, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. - Noon. All generators will
be kept outside the facilities.

STALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE GIVEN AT CHECK-IN
The Nebraska Cattlemen's Classic
will have the final ruling and interpretation of all rules.
All exhibitors and
parents should exhibit good show ethics and conduct.
Criticizing or interfering with the judge, or other
exhibitors, breed representatives or show officials before,
during or after the event may result in an individual or
group being expelled, placed on probation, declared
ineligible or barred from exhibiting at the event.
