Individual Breed Rules & Information    

Entry Fee -- $150 Per Head

Must be paid before an entry will be accepted

All entries must be received at the NCC office by November 15, 2006

Send entries, copies of registration papers, and entry fees

Entries mailed with no entry fees will not be cataloged.

Classic Sales Will be “Open” or “Closed”
OPEN – Consignments are open with exception per breed. CLOSED – Consignments are limited to in-state members of the Nebraska Breed Association. All Individual Breed Rules are set in cooperation with the respective Breed Association. All entries are eligible for championships and eligible to compete in the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic Supreme Row if selected as the Breed Champion.

Charolais

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females. The Show is a no fit show.

        Registered with American International Charolais Association.

        Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Charolais Association.

        The Nebraska Charolais Association charges an additional .50%

Braunvieh  
Auctioneer: Tracy Harl, Hastings, NE
OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females

        ○ Registered Braunvieh with the American Braunvieh Association.  Must be

          members of the NE Braunvieh Association.

Hereford 
Auctioneer: Jim Birdwell, Fletcher, OK
OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females

          ○ Registered with American Hereford Association.

          ○ Consignors must be a member of the Nebraska Hereford Association.

          ○ Entries shall be subject to approval by a selection committee appointed by the NHA

              board.

          ○ All eligible female entries must include a check for $50 made payable to the NHA for the    

              junior Futurity. 

          ○ The Nebraska Hereford Association charges an additional 1%.

 

Polled Herefords

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females
 

        ○ Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Hereford Association.

        ○ All entries must be registered as a Polled Hereford in the AHA.

        ○ Entries Shall be subject to approval by a selection committee appointed by the NHA board.

        ○ All eligible female entries must include a check for $50 made payable to NHA for Junior  

            Futurity.

        ○ The Hereford Association charges an additional 1%.

 

Red Angus

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females, registered as Red Angus in the Red Angus Association.
 

         ○ All Red Angus consignments must be registered as a 1A or 1B with the Red Angus
             Association.

         ○ The Show is a no fit show.

         ○ All females will be elgible for the Nebraska Red Angus Assn. Futurity to be paid out at
             the Junior Beef Expo and the NE. State Fair. All Heifer entries must include a $50 payable
             to the NRA.

 

Angus
Auctioneer: Tracy Harl, Hastings, NE

CLOSED SALE – Bulls and Females
 

        ○ The Angus show/sale shall be limited to current members of the Nebraska Angus
            Association, operating legitimately within the State of Nebraska.

        ○ Entries shall be subject to approval by NAA Screening Committee.  The Committee
            reserves the right to reject any animal not meeting NAA qualifications as to eligibility,
            conformation and structure.

        ○ Angus entries are limited to 70-75 head total, consisting of approximately 50 bulls and 25
            heifers.  Each consignor will be allowed to sell at least one bull and/or on heifer.  If more
            cattle are needed to fill the desired number of entries, acceptance of additional entries
            will be based on tenure period.  Past participants in the Classic will be given priority over
            other entries.

        ○ A NAA member must appear as the first owner on the registration papers to show at the
            Classic.

        ○ All entries will be weighed to provide supplemental information at the sale.

         Entries will not be accepted unless memberships to the NAA have been paid.

Simmental

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females – The Bull show will be a no-fit show. The Heifer Show will be allowed to use adhesives.
 

        ○ Consignments must be registered with the American Simmental Association. (NON
            SIMMENTAL SIRED ENTRIES ALLOWED)

        ○ Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Simmental Association.

        ○ Registered Simmental ½ blood or higher bulls are allowed.  All bulls must be born by
            March 31, 2006 and must pass a semen test prior to the Classic. 

        ○ Registered ½ blood or higher females.  (NON SIMMENTAL SIRED ENTRIES ALLOWED)

        ○ The NSA charges an additional 1%.

        ○ A data sheet will be made on EPD’s weights and scrotal measurements. The sheet will be
            given to the judge to use.

 

Limousin
Auctioneer: Bruce Brooks, Marietta, OK

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females. The Show is a no fit show.

 

        ○ Must be member of the Nebraska Limousin Association.
        ○ Heifer entries may be ½ blood or higher and bulls must be 3/4 or higher..
        ○ All bulls will have a minimum adjusted 205 day wt. of 575 pounds and an adjusted yearling  
            weight over 1000 pounds.
        ○ Heifers adjusted 205 day wt. of 525 pounds. And adjusted weight must be supplied with all 
            entries.
        ○ Yearling bulls will have a minimum adjusted scrotal of 31 cm. All cattle will be weighed and 
            measured at the show.
        ○ All females over 18 months must be bred.
        ○ Any bull born after January 1, 2006 has to have a 2.6 WPD of age.

 

Gelbvieh/Balancer Show

OPEN SALE- Bulls and Females . The Show will be a no fit show.
                            

        ○ Consignors must be members of the Gelbvieh Association in Nebraska for 2007 and a
            member of the American Gelbvieh Association.

        ○ Bulls and Females must be registered ½ or higher with the American Gelbvieh
            Association.

        ○ Females born prior to June 1, 2005 must be safe in calf or have a calf at side.

        ○ All entries will be hip height,weighed and scrotal measured at check-in. This information
            will be in the show programs.

        ○ The American Gelbvieh Association chares and additional 1%. The Gelbvieh Association in 

            Nebraska charges an additional 1%.

 

Shorthorn 

Auctioneer: Bruce Brooks, Marietta, O

OPEN SALE – to Nebraska and bordering states, Including Missouri – Bulls and Females


        ○ Registered Purebred with American Shorthorn Association.

        ○ Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Shorthorn Association.

        ○ If consignors bring more than 2 bulls they must bring 1 heifer.

        ○ All heifer calf entries must include a check for $50 made payable to NSA for the Junior
            Futurity.  All heifers are eligible for the Nebraska Club Calf Spectacular Show Back.

        ○ No bulls will be accepted with a birth weight over 99 pounds.  All bulls must be born prior
            to April 30th, 2006.

        ○ The Nebraska Shorthorn Association charges an additional 1% and 3% for the sale
            consultant.
 

Maine Anjou

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females
 

        ○ Bred females must be bred to registered Maine bulls.

        ○ All consignors must be members of the Nebraska Maine Association.  Previous

           consignors have priority with entries.

        ○ All bulls will be ultra sounded, heifers optional.

        ○ Bulls are required to have a minimum scrotal measurement of 30 cm. adjusted to 1 year of
            age.

        ○ Bulls or Heifers can be registered Mainetainers or registered Maines. The Mainetainers
            must be sired by a Registered Maine Bull.
 

Chimaine

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females
 

        ○ Registered as Chimaine in the American Chianina Association.

        ○ Consignments must be at least 1/8 Maine blood to be eligible to sell Chimaine.

        ○ All bulls will be weighed and scrotal measured – minimum scrotal measurement of 28 cm
           unless satisfactory semen tests.

        ○ Bulls over one year must have satisfactory semen test. 

        ○ All bulls and heifers will be ultra sounded.

        ○ Cattle will sell under terms and condition of the ACA.

        ○ Heifer calves born prior to August 31, 2006 will be accepted.

        ○ All entries must have registration papers sent.

 

Chiangus

OPEN SALE – Bulls and Females
 

        ○ Registered as a Chiangus or Chianina in the American Chianina Association (must be
            black).

        ○ All bulls will be weighed and scrotal measured – minimum scrotal measurement of 28 cm
            unless satisfactory semen tests.

        ○ All bulls and heifers will be ultra sounded.

        ○ Heifer calves born prior to August 31, 2006 will be accepted. 

        ○ Cattle will sell under terms and condition of the ACA.

        ○ All entries must be sent with registration papers.
