Classic Horse Sale
Sale Terms & Conditions
Entries Due November 25, 2007
All entries
must include the $150 entry fee, entry form, video footage,
and the signed consent form. All the
horses will be pictured. Make sure and include at least 2
pictures of the entry.
(One saddled, one unsaddled.)
Entries must be in office by
November 25, 2007. The committee will review the videos. You
will be
contacted and the horse will be evaluated by the committee.
Entries will be limited to 30 head.
All horses will compete in
the Classic Horse Competition. The competition is held in an
indoor arena at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds.
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s
Classic is the Midwest’s Premiere Livestock Showcase. The
Classic has offered cattlemen all across the Nation the
opportunity to showcase their Beef seedstock to other
cattlemen across the Nation, with commercial trade-show and
conclude the week long activities with Nebraska’s largest
Junior Beef Show. The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic will hold
the 10th Annual Classic Ranch Horse Sale during the week
long activities. The Classic Ranch Horse Sale is rancher’s
opportunity to showcase and sell their “Work’n Horse”.
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s
Classic defines the “Work’n Horse” as a well broke horse
that is capable of doing tasks that would be expected of the
horse on the ranch. The ideal “Work’n Horse” must also be a
cow horse. The Horse must demonstrate that he is aware of
the cow and willing to make moves to hold the cow in a small
selected area.
THE 10TH
ANNUAL RANCH HORSE COMPETITION/SALE WILL BE ON
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2008
THE COMPETITION WILL BE AT
2:00 P.M. THE SALE WILL BE AT 7:00 P.M. DURING THE RANCH
HORSE COMPETITION A SUPREME CLASSIC HORSE WILL BE SELECTED.
THE SUPREME CLASSIC HORSE WILL RECEIVE A $1,000 CASH PRIZE.
THE SUPREME HORSE WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS THE HORSE SELLS. (THE
SUPREME HORSE WILL NOT NECESSARILY
BE THE HORSE TO START THE SALE.)
ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS

Horses must be 3-12 years
old by January 1, 2008 (Horses born prior to January
2005)

Horses may be geldings or
open mares.

All Sellers must guarantee
the horses are SOUND.

All entries must include the
entry fee of $150, entry form, pictures, video, and
singed consent form. The entry fee is non-refundable
once the horse is accepted into the sale.

All entries must include a
video to get accepted into the sale. Sellers must show
the following on the video:
- General
confirmation. (The horse should be viewed without a
saddle.)
-Front view, rear view, side view
- Easy to handle –
show the horse being saddled, show the horse
walking, at a jog, lope, and reversal.
- Load and unload from
trailer.
- Open and close gate.
- Show the horse
working cattle. (Hold a cow at the end of the pen,
take the cow down a fence, making one turn
each way on the fence.)
- If there are any
other characteristics of your entry you want to show
to the committee. (Roping or showing the horse
undertake obstacles.)
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s
Classic Horse Sale Committee will evaluate the video preview
on each horse before the horse is accepted in the sale. If
the horse is not cataloged, $100 of the catalog fee will be
refunded. The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic asks that only
the seller or owner’s representative rides the horse in the
competition. If sellers choose to allow a perspective buyer
to ride the horse, this is at his or her own risk. There
will be a TV set-up to show the video footage at the Classic
if you choose to use it.
SALES TERMS & CONDITIONS

All guarantees are strictly
between the buyer and the seller. All the sellers must
guarantee the horse is SOUND.

All the consignments must be
checked in at the Classic and stalled by 10:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, February 19, 2008.

All horses must be 3 to 12
years old by January, 1 2008. Horses must be born prior
to January 1, 2005.

NO SUBSTITUTES will be
allowed.

The following will be
required at the time of check-in:
- General Health Check
– current health certificate within 30 days of the
sale.
- Coggins Tested
Negative – Provide verification of the West Nile
vaccination.
- Original
Registration Papers if the horse is registered. A
singed Transfer must also be with the papers.
